Pretty Guitar of the Day

Fender Squier Stratocasters are one of my favourite guitars. I like their shape, I like the way they play and I like the tone they make. Rarely though have I seen them come in pretty colours. I own two Fender Squier Stratocasters– one in sunburst and the other is white, customised with red heart gem stone stickers.

I was in Dawsons today in Chester, shopping for a Pog effects pedal for my guitar. I saw this guitar and fell in love with it. It’s a deep pink glitter colour and I have rarely seen any guitar so beautiful. Usually you have to go Daisy Rock to get something this pretty as well as functional.

As you can see from the label, this is a Squier Affinity Strat HH FSR. It’s a solid body with maple neck. It has a C shape profile- which refers to the shape of the back of the neck where your hand reaches around to play it. Some guitars are less curved than this at the back. The fretboard is made from rosewood. It has a vintage style bridge with synchronised tremolo. The pick ups are dual humbuckers.

I didn’t have time to try this guitar out today as I wanted to test the pedal I was shopping for on my own guitar (Daisy Rock Retro H in case you were wondering) so I can’t tell you how it sounds. But I can tell you that it’s jaw droppingly beautiful, both in colour and glitter finish, which would catch the stage lights to great effect and look great with any outfit.

I already have nine guitars… can I justify a tenth? And yet another Fender Squier Stratocaster? Er… Santa… I left something off my list! Can you bring me this too please? Maybe it’s time to get rid of some and treat myself to another?
