Worldwide Exclusive Premiere of Globelamp’s New Video for ‘Sunflowers’

Globelamp returns with new video for the song ‘Sunflowers.’ Diving into her back catalogue, she reimagines the song in video form. It sees Globelamp trapped in a black n white world, dreaming of sunflowers. “I can’t stop thinking about sunflowers / They line the streets in my dreams.”  The juxtaposition of black n white video and the imagery of the song, perfectly capture the melancholic undertones present in the music. It’s a departure from Elizabeth le Fey aka Globelamp’s usual psychedelic kaleidoscope of colour style videos. Yet it still retains hallmarks of Globelamps style, with her witchy hand gestures and the ever present globe-shaped lamp which casts shadows on Elizabeth’s beautiful face.

‘Sunflowers’

the flowers you pick and the people you miss
each petal pulled is a confirmation or a denial
or a denial
whisper secrets into tangled hair
glitter eyes blinking mystery
all seeing I see

I can’t stop thinking about sunflowers
they line the streets in my dreams and grow taller than me

you roll your R’s and I’ll try to whistle
no sound can come between me and my front teeth
give back the keys before we get in trouble
a circus tent and you’re smoking in bed
and all the walls are red

I can’t stop thinking about sunflowers
they line the streets in my dreams and grow taller than me
they are taller than me

standing in the blackberry bushes
thorns cutting my clothes
woke up in the afternoon with colors on my palms
did you know that lines are stories being told?
you were meant to swim up stream
north is south
east is west
you’ll be bent but don’t be bent fighting the current
you were meant to swim upstream
north is south, east is west
you’ll be bent but don’t be bent fighting the current

I can’t stop thinking about sunflowers
they line the streets in my dreams and grow taller than me

‘Sunflowers’ is a song taken from Globelamp’s debut album Star Dust, available from Amazon.
